Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this! To start off, as far as experience in this area, my mother has been the activity department director at Kennebec Nursing Home for my entire life and as such I have spent quite a lot of time at that particular care home. Whenever there to help, I'd assist mainly with setup/supervision of games and activities for residents, but would also assist with helping residents move from area to area, bring them snacks/drinks and generally just spend time with them while making sure they have everything they need. These experiences as well as the knowledge of the day-to-day routines of the staff in the care home has given me a fairly good insight into the responsibilities and duties required for caring for the elderly and/or disabled, and is something I'm quite confident in my ability to do.
