I worked as an RPN for 36 years, 20 years in hospital setting, 15 years in community nursing where majority of calls were for wound care, injections, updating case managers, attending and updating as programmes became available, and 1 year for private care as a PSW. I enjoy the hands on experience and the personal side of working with seniors. My responsibilities include assessing the needs of seniors in the community, updating case managers, incorporating the care and involving clients in their care, independent teaching for self care, to teach and reduce for the CCAC as appropriate.
