: Being a caregiver is more than just providing care to someone. Caring for another is about showing compassion and respect and being by their side. Patience is also a very important aspect of caring for others. My passion for helping others began during the time that I cared for my grandma with dementia and Alzheimer's. I watched this beautiful woman smart as a whip deteriorate quickly. She no longer could eat ,dress or do daily tasks of living. Sometimes she knew me but most often did not. I made it my commitment to help her through this in the most dignified caring way possible making sure she knew she was so loved and admired and that even though her physical body and mind were starting to let go, she would always live on in her teachings and love she gave me my entire life. I just want anyone going through this or similar care needs with there Mom, dad or grandparent to know people like myself care and are here to support them in this difficult transition anywhere needed. Your not alone and neither is your loved one.
