I worked as a hospital orderly from 1991-1998, while in school and a bit afterwards, helping geriatric clients in chronic and acute care environments. I learned the principles of moving patients safely in and out of beds, chairs and commodes, as well as the importance of proper preventative hygiene. I also gained experience helping patients at all stages of dementia. I am an educated, curious and patient conversationalist. A good listener, I take a sincere interest in people. I have always treated the elderly, those close to me and complete strangers, with respect, patience and compassion. I am a guitarist and singer, and have volunteered regularly at the Ste-Anne's Veteran Hospital as a performer since July 2017.
