I’m 29 years old. From Jamaica. I’ve been a caregiver since I was 18 years old. I came to Canada as a live in caregiver almost 10 years ago. I grew up with my grandparents so taking care of the elderly has been something that I have been passionate about. I studied Practical Nursing back home. I worked with my Canadian family for a few years then went on to school. When I finished school and started working, I became a caregiver for a company called Warm ‘n’ Cozy. I worked with them part time overnights and did my regular job as a medical transcriptionist/front desk staff for two years. I’ve always been passionate about working with the elderly.
