I am a third-year student at the University of British Columbia studying towards my BA in Psychology. I hope to have directed studies in Senior Well-being. I have previously worked at a Senior home where I gained knowledge as a housekeeper and with senior care. I have job experience in the service industry, farming and caretaking for children and adults with cognitive and physical disabilities; these jobs have allowed me to develop many skills. After working for seniors, I have discovered the importance of their well-being and care. I acknowledge the rejection of quality care for many seniors, which they have the right to access. This also includes mental health well-being. I understand the impact any job has that protests for and upholds values to represent seniors.
