I have taken care of my golden retriever who is now 12 years old since he was 2 months old. From taking him for walks to feeding him, I've pretty much done it all. My partner also has a 11 year old black lab that we took care of for many years prior to moving to Canada. As a kid, I had a ginger cat who was with us for a few years. My family and I have rescued 2 dogs who were with us until they passed at the ages of 14 and 5. In Canada, I've taken care of my friend's husky on and off a few times. They left him with me for about a week once when they were travelling. I don't have kids or other pets and I live with my partner in our own house.
