My family has had cats my whole life; now I have two of my own, one of whom is a senior and requires meds twice a day. I love kitties and they tend to love me too. I'm very diligent about keeping everything clean (I know how cats are!) and I'm responsible and reliable. I know how hard it can be to leave your beloved pet in someone else's care and I think building a relationship with the pet parent and the pet is super important.
