My first pets were fish. I still remember picking out every resource required. Although they definitely weren't my favourite, they were by far the easiest to take care of. I have had two budgies. They were very cute and I always made an effort to balance the amount of time they spent in their cages. Spend too much out and they'll avoid getting into their cages, spend too much time in and they'll do everything in their power to avoid your hand as you attempt to retrieve them. They may also take the first opportunity they get to fly away to freedom if their cages are in a repulsive state. I had to sell 1 puppy at the age of 12 because I had to learn that raising a puppy is a team effort and that puppies aren't going to learn everything you teach them just because you tell them to. I then spent the next 5 years watching dog training videos from Zak George, reading articles, and getting tips from family members who already had dogs. Now I am happily living with my 3-year-old Beagle who I have owned for 3 years now, and have absolutely no plans of selling him in the future.
