Hi there! Thank you so much for looking into my profile! About Me: I am Brittany, a high-energy and friendly 26 year-old living in the Fraser Valley, with A LOT of dog and cat experience! Most of my clients (pets and owners) do not consider me to be the regular pet-sitter because: 1) WE have so much fun! I am following my passion in life by providing a stimulating, stress-free and comfortable environment for each pet I meet. 2) Your pet is special! I believe that every animal is different and special in its own way and I love to learn all about his or her little quarks that make your pet who they are, I love all the different personalities that I encounter. 3) Being empathetic is VERY IMPORTANT! To be able to understand the signs and language your pet uses to show how they are feeling is crucial to having a great experience together and I put in all my effort to meet their needs. If you have a pet with difficulties and certain needs then I may just be the pet-sitter you are looking for! My reputation is to be able to befriend even the most hesitant pets. I also have a soft spot for old animals, they are so wise and particular in their ways, it warms my heart. My Experience: Ever since I was a girl growing up on a cow-farm, I have been searching for my ideal way to give back to the animals and have gained a lot of knowledge along the way. I have worked as a Veterinary Assistant where I assisted in pre and post-surgical procedures, feedings, giving medication, dental work, restraining, x-rays and overall pet care. Although, I learned that it is not the right employment for me, I also learned to read the signs of sickness and stress that will be a skill I bring to each encounter with pets. I also have experience working with animals that have been through previous abuse causing them to be highly anxious while owners are away. The stress can be quite intense for a pet that has been through a rescue experience. Many of my clients have had difficult times before being with their new owner and I provide the necessary time and patience that it takes for the pet to learn to trust me.
