For cats, I like to visit twice a day -- once in the morning (for breakfast) and once in the afternoon (dinner). Each visit is about an hour so I can get a little play in with the cat (plus do their litter box). For dogs, at least twice a day, perhaps more. I'll be there for feeding, walking and cuddling.
