To begin, I have had amazing experience helping my 11 siblings grow. I have helped my Step-Dad raise his children from new born to 18 as there has not always been a mother figure in the home. There is no question as to why I love working with children everyday. While completing my Diploma at Mohawk College I was gaining experience by working Child Care jobs for the Brantford YMCA. I was a Care Staff for drop-in programs for children aged Newborn to 12, and as a Supervisor for a Before and After School program for children aged 3.8 to 12. I have worked for a couple of different summer camps; I have great experience planning out activities to fill our days and learn through play. I have experience working at a Day Care with children aged New-born to 4 where we focus on; potty training, dressing, eating, etc. I have worked at St. Leonards with Homeless Youth. Supporting with their housing needs, education and mental health. I have also had a great opportunity working at W. Ross Macdonald School for the Blind as an Educational Assistant. I have gained many skills through out my 24 years, whether at home with my siblings or working in the field with children for the first time.
