I've had over 10 years of experience working with children. Babysitting is not the only setting from where my experience derives; I have also worked in a school, and community setting. As a babysitter, I have taken care of a boy from infancy to 8 years of age on an on-call basis. My duties included pick ups from daycare, cooking and cleaning, assisting with homework, implementing bedtime routine, and providing entertainment. There were ups and downs, but it didn't take away the fact that I grew fond of him and even saw him as my own. He really is a sweet heart. In a school setting, I have worked as a teacher's assistant. My duties included supervising children during lunch periods and recess, marking their homework, tutoring, etc. In a community setting I worked as a soccer coach for kids ages 6-10. It was an enjoyable position as I got to organize practice times and teach them techniques and strategies. This also got me to keep constant communication with the parents about game and practice times, snack duties and their children's progress. My summers were always fun!
