I enjoyed a 20 year career in nursing (BScN) and have a nurturing, warm and youthful spirit. I have been involved with children in many capacities for over 35 years (pediatric and primary care nursing, paraeducator, Kids Ministry volunteer, overseas orphanage volunteer, soccer coach, swimming instructor, camp counsellor, babysitter). Last year I cared for a pre-schooler with atypical neurodevelopment and medical issues. I have also served as a resource (foster) parent to little ones aged 2 months to 14 years including children with special needs. With little ones, I enjoy being active and outside, dabbling in arts and crafts, reading, singing, dancing, exploring life via STEM activities, participating in playdates and playgroups, and generally having fun while encouraging and promoting developmental and emotional growth and healthy attachment. My favourite age group is infants/toddlers/pre-schoolers. Ideally, I would love to support a family in Newcastle, Bowmanville, or Courtice. I have Mon-Tues-Wed and occasional Saturday availability. I would consider full-time Mon-Fri or shift work availability for a great family who is looking to formally hire a nanny (ie become a nanny's employer).
