Currently I am in my first year of College in the Child and Youth Care program, and I'm hoping to work within a School once I graduate from the program! This past summer i work as a day camp counsellor for the YMCA. I work with a group of 10 kids during the whole summer. The ages in my group were 5-9 years of age. I did a CO-OP placement at Bayside Secondary School in my grade 12 year. Here are some examples of what I did during my placement! Assisted students in Kindergarten with many different academic activities. Some examples include math, reading, writing, spelling, and many more. Worked with the teacher to create different activates for the students so they’re engaged with the new learning that they’re being taught. In the summer of grade 12, I coached a U5 soccer team. Here are some examples of what I did! Coached kids that just turned 5 for their entire summer. Taught the young children about the rules of soccer and how to play it well. Made a lot of different games to engage them in the sport by making up drippling games, games to interact with others and the amount of fun the sport it.
