I have been a nanny for 12 years, starting out babysitting my neighbours. My most recent nanny experience was with a family of 3! They were 1, 5, and 7 when I started, and are now 4, 8, and 10. My responsibilities included pick up/drop off, getting the kids ready in the morning, and for bedtime. I meal-prepped for the family, took the children to their activities, as well as find activities that would interest all of the children. I took the kids on trips, and spent weeks watching them while the parents went on vacation. Outside of childcare, I was in charge of household duties, running errands, and taking care of the dog. I have also worked with infants 2 months and above! I tend to take lots of walks with infants and talk to them. I also like to focus on developing fine motor skills as well as tummy time. My infant care contains a lot of walking and talking, exploring in order to encourage sensory development, as well as music/singing to them because it’s scientifically proven to encourage brain development in infants.
