Hello, my name is Jessica! I’ve been working as a nanny and tutor here in Montreal for four years, and have been working on-and-off as a childcare provider for over fifteen years. I love working with kids because I love to play, share my passions, and be in the moment with children. I believe play is an incredibly important tool for learning through all ages. I have worked with families with 1-4 children, including overnight stays, and have extended experience with special-needs children, including children with physical disabilities and neurodivergent children (autism, dyspraxia). In moments of conflict, I always do my best to stay calm and to explain to distressed children with compassion what is happening and why it is happening. I have worked in group settings including daycares, autism social groups, and elementary school classrooms, and have worked with children one-on-one as a tutor and home-school teacher. I have my MA in English & Creative Writing from Concordia and up-to-date certification in Emergency Child Care First Aid CPR/AED Level B (Red Cross).
