Hi there! My name is Bernadette, but call me Bernie if you'd like. :) I am a 25-year-old American who has just moved to Whistler. I have tons of experience working with kids - I grew up in a large family of nine and started babysitting at an early age. I studied English Literature in college and took Children's Literature as one of my classes and worked at a charter school nearby as an Aftercare Worker for three years, helping students with their homework, assisting with snack, and playing games with them. Last year I spent nine months living and working at a camp in Wisconsin where we had over 3,000 kids of all ages come and learn about nature and how to better take care of it, grow stronger as a group in team building through different exercises, and participate in numerous fun outdoor activities. I love being around kids because they find the joy in the simple things and teach me a lot about the beauty of life. I would love to be given the opportunity to continue working in childcare here in Canada!
