I started to babysit children all over my neighbourhood when I was about 13 and loved it, I love being around children and caring for them as a job is perfect for me. I am currently working towards becoming an elementary school teacher because of it! I am enrolled in my first year of the Wilfred Laurier Bachelor of Education program and loving it. I have been an instructor at canoe camps, I was a dance teacher for children from the ages of 3 up to 13 years old; I needed to learn how to deal with each age group specifically and enjoyed learning from them as much as they were learning from me. I was a nanny for a year for my now 6 year old niece. I took a year off of high school and looked after her and it was the best job I could have asked for. When I watched her she was a year old and turned two the summer after I stopped and started preparing for school. I would take her to the park both in her neighbourhood as well as larger ones like Waterloo park to see the animals, we would play games, play with toys, and I would try and turn most things into little learning initiatives. I then did the same for my nephew the following year who was just under a year old. My most recent nanny position was last summer full time for two young boys, ages 1 and 3 in the Waterloo area. I have my own car and I was provided car seats so we went to various children's programs, play centres, libraries, parks etc. during the day. I love being around children and I can't imagine a better way to spend my time and summer. If you would have me as your child(ren)'s nanny, I would be honoured and would love to hear from you!
