Daycare in Peterborough

| Hello, my name is Abby. I am a 23 year old student who just finished my 5th year of the elementary teacher's education stream at Trent University in Peterborough, ON. I am a now looking to provide childcare in Ottawa, ON area. I am a non-smoker who is CPR and First Aid certified and have a recent Vulnerable Sector Check on file. I have 2 younger siblings, along with many family members and friends who I have been babysitting for since I was 10 years old. (I was about 12 years old when I completed my babysitting course at the YMCA.) I teach as an unqualified supply teacher when I'm available, occasionally teach dance choreography to children aged 15 and under at local companies and have worked as a summer camp counsellor. I have a private, in-home childcare program with a few full-time (and possible part-time) spots available starting in June. | ***Currently have room for 1 full-time 2+ years old and 2 before and after school for St. John on Park St.*** I am opening my home up to do home daycare for private kids as well as through Compass. I've run a home daycare in the past for 4 years as well as babysat since I was 12 years old and I am the mother of a 1 year old little boy. I have 11 nieces and nephews that I've provided childcare for over the past 16 years.

| My whole life I’ve grown up with an older brother with Down syndrome, since I was 11 years old I have been helping care for him. The summer that just passed I worked with a non verbal young girl with autism. I also have my license, I’m a very patience person. I’m currently taking a year off school as I did just graduate high school. For this year I’m looking to work full time and with children that have special needs, as I am taking developmental service working for post secondary!
