Our daughter is 27 years old, we removed her from a day program that she started to love but she started coming homes always angry and upset. She is non verbal, eats well , put her dishes in the sink, can dress herself ( might need some adjustment with her clothes) independents She use to love doing lots of activities , games movie etc hoping her being at home she will start to enjoy having fun again.

Hello! I am interested in respite for my soon to be 13 year old daughter (high functioning ASD, mild intellectual disability, anxiety). This is mostly for social interactions and being out.. instead of always home just around me all the time. I would like to start at once a week for 3-4 hours. Would like to start asap. Looking for reliable, experienced person with CP, epilepsy and g tube feeding. 2 other children are mobile and need to be supervised as well. Ideally part time to start but leading to full time with the right fit.

May fluctuate based on needs. Tuesday, Thursday and every other Saturday (9 am - 12 pm) - 3 hours each day 3-5 Years' experience working with adults with mild to moderate intellectual delay. Completion of education as a Personal Support Worker, Social Worker, Developmental Services Worker or other relevant two-year accredited program - Valid PSW Certification or other relevant certification would be an asset - Current First Aid and CPR would be an asset - Good interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to work flexible hours Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: - Working as part of a 2 person team to ensure client’s needs and responsibilities are being met Hours broken down to enable a: - 70-80% focus on helping client with her cognitive development – similar to a teacher/tutor - including providing client with light homework/projects that will keep client engaged in her learning, and supporting client’s growth and taking of responsibility for her own personal development - 20-30% focus on helping client improve her life skills - in collaboration with client’s second PSW - including supporting client's development of, and taking of responsibility for, her daily home responsibilities like time management, budgeting, meal planning, cooking, cleaning and grocery shopping As well as: - Assisting client in finding safe and enjoyable activities that will promote her cognitive growth and development - Assisting client in improving the quality of her daily living - Creating a safe environment for client and PSWs to discuss all matters, including those sensitive in nature - Providing client's parent with a weekly progress report, as well as with an immediate incident report where it may be appropriate - both to include documentation of any unsafe conditions or behaviour, physical, and/or cognitive changes - Keeping track of hours and summarizing activities on a weekly basis Must have reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage Note that client is not vaccinated; appropriate processes will need to be in place to keep client, and PSWs safe. I have a son who is 19 and looking for someone to take him out in the community. He has Autism and FASD. He is high functioning. His executive functioning is affected. Needs to be supervised at all times. He loves music, video games and fishing. Loves high ropes, skydiving and roller coasters. His schedule is wide open any time any day. My daughter is 14 same profile as my son. Loves nature, being outside, swimming, gardening, video games , crafts and is full of life. Her schedule is evenings and weekends.
