I have two boys aged 3 and 4, the 4 year old has Type 1 Diabetes. I work shifts and my times aren't always consistent so someone who drives or lives nearby would be lovely.

We are seeking support workers to provide assistance to a family member who has Cerebral Palsy and uses a wheelchair for mobility. The support workers will be responsible for assisting the individual in home, work and community settings. Duties will include personal care such as bathing, grooming and dressing; fitness training in various settings; homemaking services such as cleaning, cooking, laundry and general household management; shopping; accompanying the individual on social outings. Support workers will also be responsible for exploring employment possibilities and providing employment support to our family member. The ideal candidates will possess:  - a strong understanding of and commitment to inclusion and advocacy.  - the ability to work independently in unstructured environments and to employ effective time management skills.  - the desire to work collaboratively with the individual’s family, network and existing supports.  - a high degree of respect for the individual’s privacy and rules of confidentiality.  - excellent communication skills in oral and written English.  - a valid class 5 driver’s license and driver’s abstract.  - first aid and CPR certification.  - a recent Vulnerable Sector check.  - reliable transportation to our family member’s home.
