Hello! We are looking for someone to provide in home respite for our little guy with Down syndrome, neuro irritability and a history of epilepsy (among other diagnoses). He is non verbal, travels by way of “butt scooting” and is in diapers. He struggles with dysregulation and self injurious behaviour (as well as aggression, mainly towards my hubby and I). Looking for someone who is willing to take the time to get to know him and his like/dislikes and triggers. Ability to lift (38lbs) to transfer into chair, mobility devices etc and spend time playing on the floor is a must. Duties would include play and interaction, personal care support, feeding meals and snacks, ensuring a safe environment for everyone, assist in regulation, occasional medicating (food and medications will be prepared). We do have pets in the home.

Hayley has diabetes, OCD, autism spectrum, along with many mood and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities would include taking Hayley out shopping. She is good at grocery shopping and running any other shopping errands you may have. She enjoys eating (picnics, fast food, or cooking at home). Money for Hayley's food would be provided. You pay for your gas and food. Hayley's blood sugar needs to be tested at lunch and dinner time. No insulin injection required as of now - could train if comfortable. Mood would need to be monitored for blood sugar lows. Hayley's food and drink intake also needs to be monitored to ensure she's not overeating and is only drinking sugar-free beverages. Hayley doesn't have a great sense of balance (especially on ice) or surroundings. She cannot navigate a parking lot on her own (doesn't understand reverse lights, cross walks etc). She needs some assistance with using the bathroom. Hayley is new to the Fort and all of her previous care takers have been long term.

We expect a caregiver who can play with him and also teach him on Saturdays for 2 #####.## don't need much personal care and but need some one to engage him.

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, cheerful and patient to spend 12 hours a week with my 21 year old son who in a wheelchair and non verbal. He will need help with personal care, dressing, feeding and also someone who will take him out for walks and spend some time helping him with gaining more independence. My son is very friendly and easygoing and loves to interact with people.
