I work shift work so hours would vary depending on my schedule. You would know the schedule months in advance so there is ability to plan. Also possibly of coming on family trips to help with care. He has type 1 so he is insulin dependent. I would like someone who has some diabetes experience but I am also willing to train. He requires injections and uses a pen. You will need to do food prep as well as count carbs so that his insulin can be adjusted. He can do his own sugar tests but you would need to supervise and log numbers. Pick up and drop off from school is required so a driver's license is needed. My older child is 16 while he has autism is very independent and able to be left alone. However it would be expected that if I was working over dinner hours you could cook for both of them.
