My Mom has dementia, macular degeneration (sight is bad) and is in a wheel Chair. She is not aggressive and is a social person. She is a repeater. She loves people. There isn't a lot of social activities she can participate in. This role is mostly companionship/social and help with evening meal. I would prefer someone that is outgoing and social and enjoys engaging my Mom with chat and going outside on nice days or being wheeled around the halls. My Hours would be 4pm to 6pm or 4:30pm to 6:30 pm. Flexible as long as it includes help with 5pm evening meal. Mom has memory loss so we do 'brain exercises'. Play easy trivia (vocal) sing songs and recite popular nursery rhymes. This makes my Mom feel good in that she can remember old rhymes. I am available today and tomorrow to meet in person. Hi, my name is Sharon and I am looking for a senior care provider in Port Hope. I would like someone who is experienced, reliable and trustworthy. Your responsibilities will include Companionship such as sitting and visiting or taking my Mom out to the nursing home courtyard to get some fresh air and sunshine I am looking for someone that has empathy, patience and compassion for my Mother. My Mom is 82 and has Alzheimer's. She also has Macular Degeneration and can't see well plus a bad hip so she is in a wheelchair. My Mom is generally a happy positive person but does get confused. I'm looking for someone to go in around 11am or 11:30 am and visit with my Mom and take her to lunch and feed her then visit a bit before her afternoon nap. If this time is not good an afternoon visit around 4:30 pm then supper at 5pm and a visit. So about 1 1/2 to 2 hours per visit. Flexible on number of days per week.
