Greetings, I am in search of a dedicated individual with a formal background in horticulture, landscaping, or gardening, who possesses a strong work ethic and is not deterred by hard work. The ideal candidate will not view time as a mere commodity for financial gain. Experience with plants, gained through volunteer work, co-op placements, or previous employment, is essential. We reside near Don Mills and Steeles, just a ten-minute walk north to our townhome in Thornhill. Should you have a vehicle there is visitor parking. We're seeking assistance to transform an approximate 8 ft x 8 ft area into a vegetable garden as soon as possible. The task can be spread over two days, weather permitting. The job requires: - Lifting up to 20 pounds; - Excavating the garden bed, disposing of the soil as instructed; - Installing a barrier alongside the neighbor's garden to block weed encroachment; - Laying down organic bagged soil to establish a vegetable garden bed; - Planting seedlings with appropriate stake spacing for optimal growth and yield; - Fertilizing and watering post-planting. All necessary supplies and tools are provided. However, you're encouraged to use your own tools if available, which is actually preferred. The job is a day-long task, lasting up to seven hours. You may begin at 6 a.m. or 7 a.m., whichever suits you best, considering current weather conditions. In case of rain, the work can be adjusted accordingly. Please provide advance notice of your start time and notify upon arrival and completion. An invoice is required, though it need not be formal—an email with your contact details, dates, hours worked, and total amount due will suffice. Renumeration to be discussed and compensation will be paid via e-transfer. While this job is for this year, it may lead to recurring seasonal work as needed. References are required.
