Looking for a flexible and easy going 1:1 carer in Deep River, ON for a very verbal 5 yo who loves people, stories, drawing, and talking. They ask a lot of questions, and frequently take on new names and personas from stories or shows they've watched. They're also very very impulsive and have a low demand tolerance. We have found that they needs someone with them all the time as they gets dysregulated very easily and escalate their behaviour as they get more dysregulated. If they feel threatened through loss of autonomy or control, they can escalate to hitting or biting, particularly with younger children. They have also tried to elope a few times. Our kiddo does best with someone that doesn't put a lot of demands on them, but sort of joins in with their world and can gently help guide them with stories, humour, and silly play. Ideally we could find someone who can help regularly in our home as we try to have two carers present (other child is 2 yo).Looking forward to hearing from you!
