Friendly PhD candidate with tutoring experience.
|
I pride myself on being a friendly and approachable tutor. I have several years of experience, including holding a position as Peer Learning Advisor tutor at La Trobe University. This position required me to be a friendly, personable, and knowledgeable resource to students across a broad range of subjects (Sicence and Arts subjects). I have also valuable experience as a seminar teacher in History and Ancient History. During my time at university, I completed a BA with honours and gained a PhD position with a scholarship. I truly enjoy seeing students' work improve under my tutelage, be it with writing skills, research, understanding course content and making learning enjoyable. I find tutoring highly rewarding for both myself and the student. I am based in Northcote and can travel within a reasonable distance for one-on-one sessions as well as online sessions. I would be suited to both high school and university levels but would enjoy primary school level as well. Although my areas of study have been primarily in history, I find the skills transferable across a broad range of subjects, particularly writing skills, research and understanding coursework.
