Elloise Campbell Tutoring

In 2018 I completed my first year as a law student at UQ and was part of the Law Faculty’s internal buddy/tutor program. Having remembered what it was like to receive that extra personalised assistance, as I received tutoring in Years 11 and 12, it inspired me to dedicate the spare time that I have to helping other students. I received Academic Honours throughout Senior School, was my school vice captain, and achieved an OP2 at the end of Year 12 - meaning I understand the values of hard work; time management; and maintaining a balance between academics, leadership, and extra curricular activities. I was also inspired by the idea that I know whilst some students may need intensive assistance, others simply need that reassuring voice to restore their confidence and validate their thoughts – two different learning objectives that I am very happy and able to work with. I was also motivated by the flexibility of this position, in that from week to week I may find that I have extra time to dedicate to students, or if they need to reschedule for any of their other commitments, tutoring makes this possible.
