Trained Occupational Therapist, full time advocate and friend!
|
As a qualified Occupational Therapist, I have experience working in paediatrics, mental health, and neuro disability services. I have worked with a variety of individuals, from 3-65 years, with a variety of different abilities and strengths. Prior to becoming an OT, I volunteered overseas teaching English and working in orphanages. I also au paired in Australia for a short period which I enjoyed thoroughly! My childcare experience also includes babysitting, assisting in classrooms (my mother is a primary school teacher), volunteering for RDA (“riding for the disabled”) and assisting in dance lessons.
My strengths lie in problem-solving, creative and sensory play, promoting independence, improving self-care and supporting learning development.
A bit about me!
I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and grew up in New Zealand where my close-knit family resides. I am a blessed Aunty with 2 nieces and 1 nephew under 6 years who I adore! I enjoy staying active, healthy, creative and social.
