| I have my P2 licence, my own reliable vehicle & I’m currently employed Part time with Connect Child & Family Services as an educator doing 32 hours a week working in both 0-3 & 3-6 rooms. Within this service I have had experience with children with additional needs such as Autism, PTSD & ADHD. Connect Child & Family Services is a 24 place centre located in Mount Victoria. I’m also casually employed with Zest Care Australia in their Vulnerable Children’s Program as a family support worker doing anywhere from 5- 25 hours a week. This is is funded by referring partners such the Department of Social Services. For example, a family may be referred through their DSS caseworker. I’ve been situations where domestic violence is shown, there is limited parenting capacity through illness and drug or alcohol use is a problem. I work with families in their homes and concentrate on achieving strategic positive outcomes. At heart, the Vulnerable Children’s Program is geared towards encouraging positive parenting, good hygiene practices, overcoming challenging behaviour, nutritional awareness and learning activities. I have completed my Certificate 3 in Children’s Services & my diploma.
