| I am a very dedicated and caring person, I have always wanted to help others, that's why I've chosen to nurse as my career. I am passionate about mental health and special needs care but sadly am yet to have any experience in the area aside from companionship regarding dementia and delirium. This being said I am very eager to learn and to assist people to live the happiest and most independent lives possible. As a nursing student, I have experience with showering and bathing as well as personal hygiene and grooming. I also have experience with feeding ( though I am unable to run any form of enteral feeding or TPN) and elimination with continence aids as well as urinals, bedpans, commodes and regular toileting, additionally I can measure and empty catheter bags. Additionally, I am qualified in manual handling and have experience utilizing a full hoist and a standing hoist, I can also reposition manually and practice any other manual handling techniques. I am an International Baccalaureate Diploma Program Graduate and a full-time nursing student but my schedule is quite flexible with only one class per semester being immovable/unmissable. I will be taking on a 4 week prac rotation sometime next semester as well.
