I never imagined myself walking this pathway, having a child on the spectrum, what that look like, or where this road would lead us. My story, our story is the story of my life. He has been one of my greatest teachers. I have a 13 yr old son on the spectrum. I understand the challenge and his needs. I homeschooled for 6 years, when in early July of last year, 2023, Master 13 asked me if he could go to high school. I didn’t hesitate, got the ball rolling and made things happen. During our tenure of home schooling, I created resources for my son… I picked up many tools on this journey that have served us well. I have worked as an esol teacher, worked with a child on the spectrum, and have worked with child youth and family. I initially wanted a career in the entertainment industry as a Producer/Director/Writer and then my life’s journey with all its twists and turns shifted. Life was never the same again. I believe I can merge these two chosen pathways and utilise my skill sets in the process. It is my turn to give back to the wider community and I would love to podcast my shared experiences with the people I work with and climb with them to new heights never before imagined.
