I have been in the healthcare industry for over 35 years as a nurse and pathology collectors and have looked after children with asd informally during that time, this past year I have changed careers to do so formally. I am a fun nanny type but can remain calm in a crisis, I currently look after two brothers with asd, one with behaviours of concern and another young boy. I can get down to their level to help them with their play socialising etc but I can be firm when required in just the right way. I love my “work” because it isn’t, and not only helping the children but the families as well. I have all the required safety checks, national police check, working with children’s and first aid but unable to load all to documents.
