I've raised 2 boys 22 and 17. I have a granddaughter 3 in December. I cared for my mother for 4 years full time 24/7, she had multiple myloma (a blood cancer which attacks your bones). She went from being able to do things a bit to not being able to do much at all. So I was helping her with every aspect of her life and ten some. Mum really enjoyed that I was constantly looking for ways to make her life easier but still keeping her independence as much as I could.
