I have 4 years’ experience as a disability support worker in WA. I worked with individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum and schizophrenia. I am familiar with behaviour management and I tend to be able to get through with clients and manage their behaviour well. I treat all clients with respect and dignity. I am observant towards client's behaviour cues and will take required actions to dissolve his behaviour. From this experience, I learnt to communicate and understand individuals better. I believe this skill would definitely be useful in an environment that requires great teamwork. I am also offered an opportunity to study Medicine in Flinders in 2020. However, due to my financial circumstances, I am unable to attend the course. It will be a great opportunity to be able to work in a similar field and learn more about other aspect of healthcare.
