The reason I ended up working with special needs children was because I had a cousin with Rett Syndrome, I worked in her nursery when she was 4 and I decided that’s where I wanted to go! After completing my degree I moved to London to work in a nursery for children with disabilities And I loved my role there, I learnt so much and loved trying out new games and activities with the kids, from there I went into being a team leader for children with disabilities in out of school service so I lead on after school clubs, saturdays and holidays from the age of 4 to 24 year olds, from this I went onto an inclusive out of school service to manage. It has been amazing and awarding working in the work I was in but it came a time when I was finished with London and wanted some sun.. so here I am :) It’s personal to me as well as professional, I know what the families want and will always try to communicate what the child wants :)
