My education, experience and training have provided me with strong skills in childcare. In the UK, I worked in a special needs school. I was in that school for 4 years over all and during that time I worked with a range of children with different ages and abilities. I have worked with students with ADD/ADHD, Autism, Asperger’s syndrome, learning difficulties, speech impairment and non-compliant behaviour. In my years of experience it has taught me the value of patience and encouragement in the special education classroom. I assisted the teacher in helping working closely with each student providing individual support and praise they require. Also having a special needs sister myself I know the standard of care required. It also helps me understand that it is important to have good communication with family members and to build trust.
