I am an animal and nature lover. I work as a contracting ecologist, where I most commonly handle possums, bearded dragons, snakes and frogs. In my personal life, I have had ample experience with both cats and dogs. I grew up with dogs and have owned cats as an adult. I currently don't have any pets because I am renting. However, I regularly dogsit and catsit for friends and family. My "regulars" include a 1 year old 40kg+ labrador named Remmi. I make sure we have lots of backyard play time before walking to tire him out. I also regularly look after a pack of four dogs all over 10 years old- Jenny, Misty, Addi and Frankie. I take them to their nearby creek for morning swims, so they can get some safe exercise. The energy level is entirely different to Remmi, and I find I have to be more perceptive of how they're all feeling. I have had to provide oral medications to both cats and dogs I have pet-sat, and am comfortable in dealing with situations where things don't go as planned. As someone who says "hello" to almost all wildlife I come across, and stops to watch any nearby dog, I would treat your pet with the same love I'd treat my own.
