Although I do not yet have experience as a pet carer, I do have relevant experience as a carer. As a part time carer, I am responsible for the health and well-being of a young child with Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as a mature aged woman with Rheumatoid Arthritis and other personal illnesses. Whilst working in this field, I am continually learning new skills and values. Both patients would say I am empathic, patient, happy and self-sacrificing. I personally assist both patients with dressing, showering, cleaning and cooking. This job is in a more relaxed less professional environment (within one’s home) and is a highly flexible job, except I must be present to assist both patients on Thursdays and Sunday’s afternoons for weekly social activities.
