It's really important for young dogs to get there everyday walk and play time so they are less energetic during the evening Also it's really good for older dogs to keep active so there muscle do not deteriorate an have weak bones or joint. Also having human interaction for pets is really important especially having a new born child or young kids around .it's gives the pets a sense that we are not a threat because some dogs can be really jumpy an have anxiety .also dogs can also sense our emotions .I have had 3 dogs in the past 3 years and I love them with all my heart because they are such loving pets also good company I live alone and having pets around really helps because I don't feel like I'm alone .
