Is there anything in the world that has more power and potential than a child? Anything more precious, beautiful or challenging? Have you ever wondered what miracle or fork in your road bought a particular child into your life? I have travelled the world and witnessed beauty and wonder that has stolen my breath I speak two languages fluently. Have travelled hundreds of thousands of kilometers. I have lived or worked in 7 countries. Have been the confidante, advocate and educator to more than 200 children and lived with or shared my home with a dozen more. Infants, children and youths springing from wondrously different backgrounds and abilities. I am now in my 30th year of caring for others on a professional level. A divine career that links premature babies to robust 2 year olds, and runs the gamut from truth-seeking teenagers through to heart-breakingly sweet and cheeky nonagenarians But never in all of that wonder,have I seen in one place at one time, more energy or complexity or unlimited possibility than I behold in the simple, searching, shining eyes of a child
