I am currently an Art Teacher at a local SP school that specializes in students with severe emotional or behavioral disorder. I am also a mentor for female youth with ASD and those who participate in delinquent behavior. I am completing my Ba Ed and hope to complete an Graduate Certificate in Autism Studies. I will be solid when I need to be, and flexible when I need to be. I believe the key to working with children who have diverse needs is building rapport, understanding their individuality and giving clear guidelines to success. My ethos stems from Robert Greene’s theories on explosive children, and that there are “no bad kids”. I believe babysitting a child with special needs requires a strong partnership between myself, the child and their parents.
