My name is Shona and I am 26 years old. I am a bubbly and energetic person who feels extremely comfortable caring for children! I am an Aunty of five and have been supporting their development for ten years through babysitting regularly. I also have done school drops and have babysat ages 7 months - teens. My current workplace is a child-care centre, in the toddler room caring for children ages 1-3yrs. Therefore, I am comfortable changing nappies and toilet training, and I have all of my clearances up to date. I absolutely love working with that age experiencing the development of their unique little minds and their wonderful creative play. I have previously studied 3 years of Primary Education at ECU and have since followed my path switching into studies of Youth Work as I have a strong desire to help children in need. Through my studies I have become familiar with many theories on child development and believe children need a strong foundation of love and support to scaffold off. I believe in laughter and that 'play' is one of the most beneficial forms of learning. When caring for your child I would encourage creativity and activities outdoors. I am also comfortable assisting with school work.
