I've been a nanny for 4+ years, working in Melbourne & New York (where I lived for two years.) In Melb I was a regular nanny for 3 children (6, 9 & 10). I helped with before-school prep, school drop off & after-school care. I also assisted with drop-off to after-school activities & occasionally on weekends. I formed great relationships with these kids, particularly the youngest. My gentle nature & the rapport we developed meant I was able to act as a source of comfort for her anxiety regarding sleep & bedtime. I also worked with a 1 year-old for two years. I assisted 2-3 days a week & could be counted on to be called in at short notice. I was in charge of all meals & fed him creative, healthy options. Activity-wise, I took him to parks, rode bikes, played Lego & cooked lots of banana bread! I was a reliable & trustworthy part of the family & formed a very special bond him and his parents. To me that's a very important part of my role as a nanny, & I enjoy forming lasting relationships with the families I work for. In NYC I babysat for a family with two girls (2 & 5) & another family with an 8-month-old. I was also a nanny for the summer break, caring for a boy & girl (2 & 6). I returned as a casual babysitter for this family.
