My last employment before I moved to Australia was working as a nursery assistant at Ashton House Nursery. Ashton House Nursery is an Ofsted Outstanding nursery which required an exceptional level of care to be given at all times. My role as a nursery assistant was to assist with the everyday needs of the children, serving meals, nappy changing, providing stimulating activities and ensuring the children’s safety. It is essential in this role that I was able to respond quickly to what needs to be done, this included thinking on my feet and using my initiative throughout the 10 hour days. I attended nurseries and provided childcare for babies, toddlers and also preschool children aged 0-4. I have experience babysitting young children in their homes, I've taken kids on day trips, prepared healthy meals and snacks, stuck to routines set by parents and most importantly ensured they were cared for at all times.
