I grew up in a big family, I was the eldest of four children and over the years I developed childcare skills through caring for my siblings. Growing up I learnt the art of patience, compromise, the importance of safety etc. I have experience with both mainstream and special needs children , as one of my siblings has type 2 Autism. I have previous paid experience in before/ after school care for three young children under the age of twelve. My responsibilities included getting their bags packed for school, preparing lunch boxes, homework help, preparing breakfast, assisting children in getting uniforms on and walking them to school. The most important responsibilities included making sure the children were safe and always supervised at all times. This position lasted for six months before accepting a new job opportunity. I am hoping I can return to a long term position like my previous role or have more opportunities in occasional work.
