My childcare experience involves mostly babysitting for family and friends. I often babysit a family friends' children, who are aged 6 and 8. This typically involves playing games and sports and swimming in the pool in the afternoon, serving dinner, reading books, showering and putting to bed in the evening. I stay awake and attentive until midnight when their parents get home. Recently I went on an overseas holiday to Thailand with my family including my 2-year-old second cousin. I spent a lot of time entertaining and looking after her which I thoroughly enjoyed. My cousin and auntie even suggested I get into childcare as they saw how good I was with children! Although I don't have much experience outside of babysitting, I truly love kids and am enthusiastic about becoming more involved. A goal of mine is to au pair abroad and believe that more experience with children will help me become an even better child carer. I am open to completing any courses that will help possible employers consider me.
