Recently retired from Education Queensland as Statewide Verifier for ASD but currently working in the TAFE system as a Disability Coach two days per week. I enjoy working with children especially as I have no grand children and would love to support families by providing kind, engaging, creative and active care. Not your typical senior. Very active on a daily basis. Extremely reliable and trustworthy. Have an excellent rapport with all children of all ages having worked in a variety of settings with children aged from 0-18 years. Have held responsible positions including Principal/ Head of Department and Director of a Long Day Care. Resume available to view. Very comfortable with pets of all varieties. Gaye cared for my 4 year old while I worked. She has gone above and beyond, not only to entertain my son, but also to educate him. I am amazed by the way she teaches and have fun with a young child. She is very meticulous and plans her time well, and always pre-empting my son on her plans. She brings lots of ideas to keep my son engaged and learn through play. I am grateful that she worked with us for the period where I needed help.
