In Australia on a working holiday visa, I am enthusiastic in experiencing the Australian way of life. I am a qualified occupational therapist from the UK, with lots of experience working as a responsible and reliable professional, facilitating hospital discharges of older people. I have many years experience as a support worker with individuals who have physical and/ or intellectual disabilities. I worked to enable them to live independently assisting with tasks such as meal prep, personal care and community access/activities. I have also worked with a young boy (7) with autism in his own home to encourage learning through play. I have gained lots of transferable skills including excellent communication (non verbal and verbal), negotiation as well as being a proactive motivator. I have lots of experience informally as a babysitter for young children and I thoroughly enjoy the satisfaction of working in this role. I hold a valid CPR and first aid certificate as well as a full driving licence and access to a car.
